About Me

The sum of a person is so much larger than words placed on a page, or even in an autobiography.  I have put these words on this page so readers will know a little more about me.  If you are in the Colorado area, I am always up for coffee or tea if you would like to get together.

My name is Susan Bateman.  I was born in Texas and raised all over the U.S.  I went to L.S.U. in Baton Rouge on a swimming scholarship.  Upon graduation, I moved to Houston for a job, and played other team sports for fun and fitness.  I later moved to Colorado to live in a smaller town and be near relatives (still miss my friends in Texas!).  I am now a bona fide, Colorado-loving resident.

I came up with the name “live human being” after visiting a friend.  She had stated…”When I need computer help; I don’t want to talk to a recording; I want to talk to a LIVE HUMAN BEING!” (so she really came up with the name!).  This was in response to asking her advice about buying a computer support franchise (she thought it was a good idea).  Upon returning from that trip, I purchased the livehumanbeing domain to reserve it for future use.

I had been working for a HUGE computer services company, but felt lost in that “hugeness”.  I ended up purchasing the computer support franchise I had been exploring.  I invested a LOT of money; have great employees; have great clients; but am not close to my dream lifestyle or income.

I was introduced to a network marketing online greeting card and gift business a few years ago.  I added this to my appreciation marketing mix for my computer support business.  It was a perfect fit because I was already handwriting thank you cards and sending gift cards as ‘thank you’s’ for referrals. This product made it easier, quicker and less expensive. I signed up as a distributor in this business because I knew it would be a good fit for a lot of other businesses and people.

Fast forward a few years…I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in February of 2010.  It was what I jokingly call “easy cancer” because surgery cured me (no chemo or radiation).  I joke about a lot of things; so please don’t take this the wrong way.  Cancer is very serious — I only joke about it because it makes me feel better about my situation.  With my downtime after surgery, I reflected on my computer support business and my life.  I made the decision to put more effort in my network marketing business because it gave me the most joy and kick in the pants each morning.  If you are just now exploring network marketing and want to learn more about it, I highly recommend starting with the book “The Business of the 21st Century” by Robert T. Kiyosaki.  I love, Love, LOVE my product; love the people associated with this company; love building and supporting teams; love my independence; and love the residual income.  Network marketing is a perfect fit for me.
